Over the past five years, the Once has been quietly making a name for themselves in their native Canada. The Newfoundland-based band has collected a trio of Canadian Folk Music Awards, been named Newfoundland & Labrador Art Council’s Artist of the Year and earned a Juno nomination for best Roots/Traditional album. In the coming year, however, the rest of the world will get to discover the joyous, harmony-rich acoustic music that have made them such favorites in their homeland. The trio (Geraldine Hollett, Andrew Dale and Phil Churchill) released Departures – their first album on Nettwerk Records – and embarked on a world tour opening for Passenger, beginning in America, before heading to Europe and then Australia and Asia. The Once recorded and co-produced Departures with John Critchley at Green Door Studios in Toronto, Ontario.

These days, "singer/songwriter" has become a catchall genre that describes almost anybody with a few songs and a guitar, but Amos J. stands out because he matches nimble songwriting with a soulful, rich voice and a guitar repertoire over which he has total command. Onstage or in studio, Amos J. sounds equally good whether he's leading a band complete with horns, or performing solo. His songs evoke themes of love and courage, and have a stark beauty born of the forests and rivers of Quebec's Eastern Townships, where he is based.

Since releasing his first album, My Name Is Amos, in 2007, Amos J. has dazzled audiences across Canada and created a loyal following through the power of his performance. He has toured and recorded nonstop, sold thousands of albums independently through the sheer force of his touring, and has played over one thousand shows. Amos J.'s music has been repeatedly featured on national TV and radio, and he has shared the stage with the likes of Gowan, Loverboy, Alexandre Desilets, and Brian Greenway from April Wine.

Durham County Poets are from the Chateauguay valley located in Quebec, Canada. Their influences are varied, from blues to folk, from jazz to ragtime, with elements of the Band, James Taylor, Jimmy Reed, even some Leon Redbone. Each member brings a different musical background to the the band that marries into a sound that has been labeled as soulful folk.

The band grew out of the lively music scene in Ormstown, Quebec, a town that was once called Durham county. They first performed at the Branches and Roots folk festival in 2011 and soon after released their debut album, 'Where the river flows' in 2012 with drummer/producer John McColgan at the helm. In 2014, amidst a busy year of shows, interviews and even some television, their second album, 'Chikkaboodah Stew' was released . With plenty of material still to be recorded and the creative juices still flowing, the Poets are forging ahead in hopes of leaving their stamp on Canadian music.
